Hey Juror B37, It's Time to Shut the Fuck Up

Juror B37 — the most outspoken member of the most hated jury in America — is looking to have a normal life. A normal life full of book deals (sorry, B37) and Anderson Cooper interviews and the ability to repeatedly say stupid things that she’s never held accountable for. You know, a life just like yours or mine!

She also wants us to know that she’s plain sick over the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old who she once referred to as a “boy of color” and whose killer she recently acquitted of murder. In fact, Juror B37’s outline returned to Anderson 360 this morning with the sole intention of making that very clear:

“I don’t want people to thing that the we [the jury] didn’t think about it and we didn’t care about Trayvon Martin because we did. We’re very sad that it happened to him.”

When asked by Cooper whether or not she thought that Martin played a role in his own death, Juror B37 replied:

“I believe he played a huge role in his death. When George confronted him, he could have walked away and gone home. He didn’t have to do whatever he did and come back and be in a fight.”

I don’t like to tell people what they can and can’t say (nor am I able to) so take this as a suggestion instead of a command, but seriously, lady — shut the fuck up. Your fellow jurors want nothing to do with you. You’ve already proven you’re an asshole. Your work here is done. Go home! Quit engaging with the media that you’ve professed to hate so much. Quit sending the same tired and offensive message that black people need to be constantly docile and apologetic for their presence on this planet. Quit sending the message that if they stand up for themselves, if they fight back, then they’re somehow asking to be shot through the heart.

You want a normal life? Then stop. Just stop. We’ve heard what you have to say so there’s no reason to keep going.
