Harvard "Gangbanger" Incident Investigated By Massachusetts Attorney General

The shut-down of a party for black Harvard and Yale alums — allegedly out of fear that “local gangbangers” were infiltrating — is now being investigated by the civil rights division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office.

Here’s the message sent out to Harvard Medical School students just a few minutes ago:

Dear Students,

Some of you may have heard about the nightclub that closed down a minority
student and alumni event after the Harvard Yale game. This Harvard Crimson
article describes the event.

The incident is being investigated by the Massachusetts Attorney General’s
office. Maura Healy, who is the head of the Civil Rights Division of the
Attorney General’s office, and a former Harvard University student, wanted to
let us know that the AG’s office, and her division specifically, are
investigating the Cure Nightclub incident. They have spoken to students at some
of the Harvard schools and she would like us to encourage any other students who
witnessed the event to contact her office. She said that they would be sensitive
to students’ concerns about confidentiality.

Although such incidents are rare, they leave the participants and the entire
community with a sense of being unwelcomed. If you have any additional thoughts
