Florida police have arrested an Uber driver accused of sexually assaulting three women in the last year, nabbing him Thursday after one victim managed to get his license plate number.
Boynton Beach Police arrested 36-year-old Xolani Mtsitsha for allegedly raping his victims in the same desolate industrial area on separate occasions between January and July. He’s currently being held on $150,000 bail.
Mtsitsha told police that two of the three women had sex with him in exchange for a free ride, though the third refused to have sex with him without a condom, an affront for which Mtsitsha simply raped her. According to the Sun Sentinel:
Another woman was trying to get to a homeless shelter along Clint Moore Road in Boca Raton when Mtsitsha offered her a ride, the police report said.
Instead, he took her to the industrial area in Boynton Beach. When they arrived, she realized she was in danger and began to cry, the report said. The man held her face down and raped her before dropping her off around Clint Moore Road, the report said.
The woman told investigators that the man kept saying, “You’re making me mad, you don’t want to get me mad.”
Police tracked down Mtsitsha after his most recent victim had the incredible presence of mind to get his license plate number as she fled his car.
Mtsitsha denies having forced himself on two of the women, telling investigators that one offered oral sex in exchange for the ride, and that another, who “didn’t have money,” offered to have sex with him as payment. This stands in opposition to the victims’ accounts, who each said they were raped.
An Uber spokesperson confirmed to the Palm Beach Post that Mtsitsha has been banned from the app.
