A former police officer in California was sentenced to 205-years-to-life for raping multiple women while he was on duty.

Ex-West Sacramento police officer Sergio Alvarez was convicted on numerous charges including aggravated assault, kidnapping and rape on Feb. 27. Prosecutors said the 205-years-to-life sentence handed down on Friday is one of the longest they are aware of for an on-duty police officer: Via CBS Sacramento:

Prosecutors say he raped women while on the job, sometimes even in his patrol car. At least five women were suspected of being coerced by Alvarez to have sex with him, prosecutors said.

One of Alvarez’s victims said he raped her after pretending to help her when her car ran out of gas. She was walking to get fuel when he pulled over and offered to give her a ride. Instead, he brutally attacked her.

“This is one of the most disgusting cases that I’ve ever seen, because it involved a police officer who abused his position of trust and sullied the badge,” said Yolo County District Attorney Jeff Reisig.
