Hey, just wondering, how often do you eat nuts? Like, are you the kind of nuts fan who eats them all the time or do you just eat them every once in a while? Like, do you grab a handful of nuts once a day? Once a week? Do you only eat nuts on airplanes? If you’re a big fan of nuts, have I got some great news: Science Daily is reporting that you “have a lower risk of dying from several major causes of death than people who don’t consume nuts or peanuts.”

The project leader found the results of the study, which has running since 1986, “remarkable.”

The associations between nuts and peanut intake and cardiovascular death confirm earlier results from American and Asian studies that were often focused on cardiovascular diseases. However, in this new study, it was found that mortality due to cancer, diabetes, respiratory, and neurodegenerative diseases was also lowered among [Men and women who eat at least 10 grams of nuts or peanuts per day.]

Ah, but - I’m really paying attention to protein content in foods, because I’m vegetarian and I’m ridiculously into exercise all of a sudden. Weirdly, peanut butter turns out to have lots more protein and much less fat (weight to weight) than Brazil nuts. Which aren’t even from Brazil. And they’re radioactive.
