The Washington Post has obtained a 2005 audio clip of man-sized ass-cyst Donald Trump having a particularly disgusting and demeaning conversation about his treatment of women. Trump was captured on a hot mic bragging that due to his fame, he could grope women with impunity: “[W]hen you’re a star they let you do it. They let you do anything... Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.”
In recent weeks, the Post has published an embarrassing round of stories about Trump’s stingy charitable giving, his creative applications of the tax code, the way he evidently used his charity as a piggy bank to pay to settle legal claims. This latest story refocuses on Trump’s long history of nasty and sexist commentary about women, at a time when he’s busily trying to woo female voters.
The audio the Post obtained was captured as Trump spoke to Billy Bush, then of Access Hollywood, before a segment taping began. The two were apparently seated on a bus, then moved to a set to start the segment. Trump carried on an unbroken stream of chatter about women he wanted to sleep with or touch sexually, with or without their consent:
“I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it,” Trump is heard saying. It was unclear when the events he was describing took place. The tape was recorded several months after he married his third wife, Melania.
“Whoa,” another voice said.
“I did try and f—- her. She was married,” Trump says.
Trump continues: “And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.’”
“I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married,” Trump says. “Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look.”
Then the two men moved outside, where they noticed Arianne Zucker, an actress. They didn’t let that pass unremarked:
“Your girl’s hot as s—-, in the purple,” says Bush, who’s now a co-host of NBC’s “Today” show.
“Whoa!” Trump says. “Whoa!”
“I’ve gotta use some tic tacs, just in case I start kissing her,” Trump says.“You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait.”
“And when you’re a star they let you do it,” Trump says. “You can do anything.”
“Whatever you want,” says another voice, apparently Bush’s.
“Grab them by the p—-y,” Trump says. “You can do anything.”
Trump is defending this latest gross revelation as “locker room talk” and says Bill Clinton did it too:
A good reminder that when Donald Trump yells about Megyn Kelly having blood coming out of her wherever, he’s actually cleaning up his language.
Update: Here’s that audio, interspersed with some clips of Ivanka Trump on her dad’s respectful relationship with women.
Update, 4:57 p.m.:
This is an interesting time to recall that in her civil lawsuit against Donald Trump, makeup artist Jill Harth alleged that Trump groped her at least twice, first under the table at a dinner and then in one of his children’s bedrooms, as she went on a group tour of Mar-a-Lago. From the Guardian:
“He pushed me up against the wall, and had his hands all over me and tried to get up my dress again,” Harth said, “and I had to physically say: ‘What are you doing? Stop it.’ It was a shocking thing to have him do this because he knew I was with George, he knew they were in the next room. And how could he be doing this when I’m there for business?
You can read the original complaint Harth filed in 1997 here. Harth dropped the lawsuit weeks later, but spoke about her allegations again earlier this year after Trump publicly claimed her claims “meritless.” She told the Guardian she wanted an apology from him, adding, “Don’t call me a liar.”
