Daenerys May Have Romantic Leads Next Season, According To Game Of Thrones' Emilia Clarke

Actress Emilia Clarke, who plays widow Daenerys Targaryen on HBO’s Game Of Thrones, was cornered by a VH1 reporter at Comic-Con on Friday and asked what she thought was most interesting about Daenerys, who spent last season wandering in the Qarth desert.

Her response:

“I think she’s a character that lots of people can relate to, and lots of women can relate to, and I think that [the writers depict her] in a way where you can see both her vulnerability and you can see the struggle that she takes to overcome it, and watching that, I think, is something that fills people with hope, and makes you want to kind of root for her.”

And Dany might be getting some suitors in the upcoming season, although Clarke isn’t allowed to give out the details.

There’s a few interesting, uh, journeys that she goes on, and there’s a lot of new stuff that goes on for her. This is a big season for her. I can’t talk about and all I want to do is talk about it!
