Just as no one requested, the filmmakers behind Suicide Squad will release an extended cut of the most unexceptional superhero film of the summer.
Despite many critics declaring the film a near or complete wash, Suicide Squad has grossed over $740 million worldwide since its August release. This November, Warner Bros. will sell DVDs of a longer cut featuring scenes omitted from its theatrical version. “YES, more Suicide Squad!” said one lonely man on a stained Ikea couch. Per Variety:
Jared Leto had complained shortly after the film’s Aug. 5 release that many scenes he shot as the Joker were deleted.
Maybe ’cause they were bad? “There were so many scenes that got cut from the movie, I couldn’t even start,” Leto told IGN in August. “If I die anytime soon, it’s probably likely that it’ll surface somewhere. That’s the good news about the death of an actor is all that stuff seems to come out.”
