Cocaine-Munching Moths Might Eat All the Party Favors

Moths might ruin your summer; well, they might ruin your summer if you’re an avid user of cocaine.

The Columbian government is thinking about flooding the country with Cocaine Tussock Moth larva, according to the AP, because they love to munch on coca plants and will be less harmful in their destruction than pesticides.

Americans usually fund the push to kill coca crops in Colombia with a chemical called glyphosate, which the World Health Organization recently deemed a dangerous carcinogen. As an alternative, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos wants to try something else: nature.
