Clay Aiken Thinks Donald Trump Has Some Good Ideas

American Idol’s most respected aspiring politician Clay Aiken is fine with the idea of Donald Trump running for President. And he thinks people who count Trump out of the race are bugging.

Aiken is, of course, an expert in these matters. You’ll recall that in 2014, he ran for congressional seat in North Carolina and lost.

“Anybody who discounts him is shortsighted,” says Aiken of Trump’s run. “I don’t think anybody should discount him. Nobody thought that we would see him in the position he is in right now. He is certainly the front-runner with no signs of that fading.”

Aiken, for one, thinks Trump is cool peoples, so why not give him a chance to fuck up the country? According to this wise young man, politics needs a human cystic acne pus like Trump to challenge the system.

“I think he has a really great opportunity even if he doesn’t win the Republican nomination to do something I think the country has needed for a long time, which is to try to break this stranglehold of the two-party system,” says Aiken. “I kind of hope he decides to stick with it and maybe give people another option outside of the Republicans and Democrats.”

UPDATE: Clay Aiken has weighed in to clarify that he doesn’t necessarily think that Donald Trump has “good” ideas, but that his perhaps-bad ideas are something that shouldn’t be dismissed. Which makes even less sense.
