Check Out the Dumplin' Trailer to See Jennifer Aniston as a Texan Pageant Queen

Entertainment

Netflix just dropped the trailer for Dumplin’, featuring Jennifer Aniston as a dedicated pageant queen and Danielle Macdonald as her rebellious daughter, and it actually looks delightful.

The movie follows Willowdean, played by Patti Cakes’ Macdonald, the Dolly Parton-loving, plus-size daughter of a pageant queen mother who calls her “Dumplin.’” She finally gets fed-up and enters a pageant herself as a protest; despite insisting, “I am not the Joan of Arc of fat girls,” it sounds like she becomes a version of just that.

The movie is based on the much-loved YA novel of the same name by Julie Murphy, and Dolly herself composed an original song for the movie. And I honestly cannot believe how much Aniston is fully embodying somebody you’d encounter walking the aisles of the local Piggly Wiggly like she’s lady bountiful, because as far as everyone is concerned, she is!

The movie comes to Netflix December 7, and I am genuinely excited and optimistic.
