Further shattering the illusion that she's just the goth-y "Jenny from the Block" of New Zealand, 17-year-old songstress/sorceress Lorde is collaborating with MAC Cosmetics on a new makeup line.
The "Royals" singer announced:
I have loved MAC Cosmetics since I was a little kid. I remember saving up to buy my very first MAC lipstick [Snob] at 14, and it was used by about 20 of my friends! MAC has a very clear aesthetic, that has always felt fashion forward to me. So I was really excited to work with them on these products, which I use pretty much every day and night. I hope you will too.
Reminder: Lorde (real name: Ella Yelich-O'Connor) was 14 a mere three years ago and some of us probably have tubes of lipstick that are older than she is.
No word on what the Lorde's makeup line will look like, but based on her own aesthetic, it seems highly likely that it will include a lot of dark lip colors and an overall vampy color palate.
Sigh. Remember when goths used to get their makeup the normal way (stealing it from Hot Topic and/or buying Wet N Wild lipstick in black for $1 at Walgreens)? Those were they days, huh...
