I have never had a dog or a cat that has given two actual shits about their own reflection, but from the looks of quite a lot of our pets aren't really down with the whole idea of gazing lovingly at themselves. (Or maybe they get upset because they hate the way their owners are grooming their hair? UGH I can't believe you cut my ear hair so short; now all the other dogs are going to laugh at me! Ahhhhh!) SOLUTION: Cover all mirrors in homes everywhere; problem fixed!
