Canadian College Bros Lead Freshmen In Rousing Pro-Rape Cheer

Latest

80 orientation leaders at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax are in trouble for leading incoming freshmen in an enthusiastic cheer about grabbing your underage sister’s ass without her consent.

The cheer, spelled out by students in matching pink T-shirts on a crowded football field, was originally posted on Instagram and went like this: “Y is for your sister. O is for oh-so-tight. U is for underage. N is for no consent. G is for grab that ass. St. Mary’s boys we like them young.”

Officials admitted that this wasn’t the first year the orientation included a version of the rapey cheer — this was just the first year people noticed it was a little weird to encourage underage sexual assault on campus. Lewis Rendell, a third-year student who sits on the board of the SMU Women’s Center, told the Toronto Star that the St. Mary’s University Students’ Association cut funding to an event called ConsentFest last year. Funnily enough, the event focused on issues surrounding sexual consent. Maybe it’s time to reprioritize?

All 80 orientation leaders and three members of the executive student union will take sensitivity training, because apparently “don’t joke about attacking teenage girls” is a skill that needs to be taught.
