Bradley Cooper Will Team Up With His Female Co-Stars to Negotiate Pay

After praising Jennifer Lawrence for her recent essay in which she addressed Hollywood’s gender pay disparity, Bradley Cooper has revealed plans to work with his female co-stars on salary negotiations before films go into production.

“I don’t know where it’s changing otherwise but that’s something that I could do,” Cooper told Reuters. “Usually you don’t talk about the financial stuff, you have people. But you know what? It’s time to start doing that.” In the piece for Lenny, Lawrence expressed anger at herself for being a failed negotiator. “When the Sony hack happened and I found out how much less I was being paid than the lucky people with dicks, I didn’t get mad at Sony,” she wrote. “I got mad at myself. I failed as a negotiator because I gave up early.”

Cooper was appalled to learn what his American Hustle co-star, Amy Adams, was paid for the film. “She worked everyday on that movie and got paid nothing. It’s really horrible actually, it’s almost embarrassing,” said Cooper. He hopes Lawrence’s essay would “allow people like Amy to also speak up.”
