Netflix and Warner Bros. Television hammered out the deal for the sure-to-be disappointing revival because that’s the way re-dos of beloved television shows and movies usually work out.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms that most of the gang will be back, with creators Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino writing and directing all the episodes as well as the original stars, Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena.
Can’t say I’m at all excited about this, but it will be interesting to see how they handle the absence of Richard Gilmore, played by Edward Herrmann, who died in 2014. Additionally, Melissa McCarthy, who played Sookie St. James, is not expected to return.
Other than that, there are no real details. The title hasn’t been announced nor have the number of episodes. We’ll also have to wait to find out where the reboot picks up and whether or not Rory has finally achieved a shred of emotional maturity after almost ten years.
