Adorable Girl Helps Dad With Concession Speech

Latest

Joe Sestak lost his Pennsylvania Senate race yesterday, but at least he’ll get to spend more time with his adorable daughter Alex, who made several contributions to his concession speech.

Alex contracted an often-deadly form of brain cancer at the age of four, and was given just months to live. Her dad went on a cross-country quest to save her, and after surgery, chemo, and radiation, she’s now a happy and energetic eight-year-old. This experience made him appreciate first-hand the value of affordable health care, which is why he’s been a supporter of health-care reform. However, he won’t be able to take those views to Congress, because he was defeated by Pat Toomey (who’s anti-abortion and voted to amend the Constitution to ban gay marriage). Instead, Alex Sestak has another plan for her dad: “clean out the den.”
