Last night's season premiere of Louie featured a fantastic exchange between a bluntly honest single father and his daughter. When Louie rewards his eldest child for doing her homework with a mango pop, his youngest demands one as well. What follows is a refreshingly honest lesson about how sometimes the world just isn't fair, and you just need to get used to it.
I LOVED this. LOVED it. I have a younger sister and we had this argument all the time. My parents were pretty good about fairness but I still kid around with my parents about how when I was 9 my bedtime got moved from 8pm to 9pm and my sister's did too when she was only 8 years old. THAT was totally not fair. NOT FAIR! I belive my parents response was 'go to sleep, now.'
