'Adderall Alternative' Advertises on Harvard's Student Newspaper Website

Hey, Harvard undergrads: Want to know how to increase your energy, mental focus and concentration? No, not by posting “any1 have addies?!?!” on Craigslist. The Harvard Crimson, Harvard’s student newspaper, is running advertisements for AddTabz, the “Adderall Alternative,” on its website.

It’s hard to tell exactly how AddTabz are different via its slightly sketchy website (or maybe I’m just not focused enough to find the info; I haven’t had any speed yet today) but you don’t need a prescription to take the pills, which are “NOT an herbal supplement but rather a designer non-prescription pharmaceutical analog providing superior results without the side effects of its chemical cousin’s amphetamine spectrum.”

HMMM. As a former occasional Adderall lover myself, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued…but anyone who’s ever passed out after staying up for 24 hours straight writing a 20 page paper on “The Modern Clown as Terrorist” (don’t ask) knows that there’s no such thing as a free lunch when it comes to amphetamines. If AddTabz work, they can’t be that great for your body. And it’s kind of odd that Harvard’s student newspaper would run ads for an Adderall-esque study aid, OTC or otherwise — especially given the college’s massive recent cheating scandal.
