We Might Be Getting A Loki Mini-Movie Starring Tom Hiddleston

Latest

Everyone. Please prepare your Tom Hiddleston reaction gifs now. Rumors are flying that the soon-to-be released Thor 2: The Dark World DVD will contain a mini-movie centered around Loki called All Hail the King.

When you are done screaming and freaking out and explaining what’s going on to your loved ones who’ve just burst into the room to make sure you’re alright, sit down and read this (WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE THOR SEQUEL YET. SERIOUSLY. LOTS OF THEM. STOP READING IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN IT YET AND DON’T WANT THE ENDING RUINED):

A title like “All Hail the King,” in connection with “Thor: The Dark World,” can really only mean one thing: Tom Hiddleston’s Loki
is involved. When the “Thor” sequel ended, everyone in Asgard assumed
Thor’s trickster brother to be dead, killed in battle against the
vicious Malekith the Accursed. That’s not what happened, of course. Loki
faked his own death, stole his way back to Asgard, and somehow usurped
the throne from his adoptive father, Odin. By the end of “Dark World,”
Loki wore both Odin’s face and Asgard’s crown, with the fate of the true
Odin left up to the viewer’s imagination.

So, fresh off his triumphant victory as the real for real really Sexiest Man Alive, Hiddleston is also about to dominate all the DVDs. Fantastic. MTV also says that the mini-movie could help Marvel soothe the demand fans currently have for a Loki-centered movie; an online petition called “Free Loki” calling for a film devoted to everyone’s favorite movie villain already has more than 50,000 signatures. Wow. My petition calling for the British government to rename their nation “Hiddlestonia” and make me their queen only has one lousy signature, which is total bullshit.

We’ll know more about All Hail The King when Thor 2: The Dark World is released on Feb. 25. See, now aren’t y’all glad I successfully petitioned the editorial board at Jezebel to assign me to the prestigious Hiddleston beat so you can be aware of these awesome things?
