Donald Trump continues to be a parody of himself. The Washington Post’s David Fahrenthold reported that at least five Trump golf clubs (including one in Scotland) hang a framed Time Magazine cover praising Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice reality TV show, dated March 1, 2009, that doesn’t actually exist.
Time held its annual Time 100 gala on Tuesday night, to celebrate the most influential people on the planet. Viola Davis, Blake Lively and Riz Ahmed were among the stars who brought their most influential smizes to the party. Take a gander below.
President Trump recently participated in an interview with Time Magazine’s Michael Scherer for a cover story about his relationship with the truth. Predictably, this conversation really tested the limits of irony.
On Wednesday, Time announced its 90th Person of the Year—the individual who, in the magazine’s editorial staff’s view, had the “greatest influence, for better or for worse, on the events of the year.” Unsurprisingly, the winner of the title was Donald Trump.
Once a year, TIME gets people to write about one of the 100 other people they have deemed the most influential on the planet. Ideally their short pieces should be about the subject and not the writer, but the cleverest among them manage to do both. These are the 18 best humblebrags found in this year’s list:
The 8 finalists for Time's 2014 Person of the Year fall into four categories: Socially important groups (Ebola health care providers, Ferguson protesters), rich dudes (Tim Cook, Roger Goodell, Alibaba CEO Jack Ma), world leaders (Vladimir Putin, Masoud Barzani), and Taylor Swift. GIRL POW-AH!
Last week, Time magazine held their fourth annual word banishment poll, in which readers can vote for the word they would like to remove from our modern lexicon. They decided to include the word "feminist" possibly as a critique of how ubiquitous and relevant the word has become (as if that's a bad thing?), a move…
After outcry grew over her exclusion from Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People in April, Laverne Cox has gotten her own cover story for the magazine.
Next week's issue of TIME tackles some pretty heavy issues — rape on college campuses ("We gotta change our school name! Rhinelander Academy for Personal Enlightenment makes a terrible acronym!), the kidnap of 276 Nigerian girls, botched executions. But perhaps most horrifying and unfathomable of all: Joel Stein's kid…
How mindful/meditative of them.
Time has done their due diligence and, following the controversy over their very male-heavy Gods of Food issue, continued the conversation by interviewing female chefs about sexism in the food industry. Who's a major culprit? As we posited yesterday, members of the media.
There's nothing like a list to get people angry. That much was clear last week, when Time Magazine put together their Gods of Food issue and featured almost no women, inflaming food lovers the world over, as these inadequate breakdowns of "The Best" tend to do. So why do them at all?
Nancy Gibbs has been named managing editor of Time, making her the first female EOC in the magazine's history. She's replacing Richard Stengel, who is President Obama's choice for under secretary for public diplomacy and public affairs. Another fun fact: She "has written 174 cover stories — more than any other writer…
If you're going to write about how self-involved Millennials are, you'd better be prepared for that generation to complain about you on all forms of social media. Or you might have asked for the piece to be written because you're a totally brilliant editor who enjoys traffic trolling. At least, that's what many people…
That shot with Arianna Huffington — that's totally what we would do.
Before this happened today and quickly because The Greatest Feud of Our Time, Tardar "Grumpy Cat" Sauce (right) and happy mutated accident Lil Bub (left) have been able to co-exist as two very different ridiculous Internet time-wasters for everyone to enjoy.
As of today, Time Magazine has dubbed Lena Dunham as 2012's Coolest Person of the Year. Okay, sounds good. I think Lena Dunham seems pretty cool, but then again I am young and living in Brooklyn and can be kind of mean to my mom sometimes. A lot of you are probably like "I hate her" right now and that's alright, too,…
Jamie Lynne Grumet, the mother seen breastfeeding her 3-year-old on this week's cover of Time was on Today this morning, with a very calm, down-to-earth attitude about the story. She says she knew what she was getting into when she posed (there's a behind-the-scences piece about how the cover was shot, for…
Hey girl, your boyfriend has been anointed the "Coolest Person of the Year" by Time magazine, but you probably already knew that. It was pretty disappointing when Ryan Gosling was overlooked for the title of "Sexiest Man Alive," but "coolest" has a lot more indie cred, and might be a better fit.
