I think at this point we can all acknowledge that Nine is kind of disappointing and overblown. And yet: the Rome premiere at the Auditorium Conciliazione just made me want to pack up, hop Alitalia and, yes, be Italian.
The much-hyped new musical Nine is based on Federico Fellini's classic 8 1/2 and stars six Oscar-winning actors, but critics find it disappointing. It seems the film is crippled by the same problem plaguing its main character: lack of inspiration.
It was an A-list family affair at NYC's Ziegfeld Theatre Nine premiere: Madonna and Lourdes; Goldie and Kate; Mary-Kate and Ashley - and, of course, the lovely galaxy that is the cast. And, yes, it was amazing:
