The Kenneth Cole fall 2013 collection show during Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week yesterday — marking Cole's return to fashion week after a seven-year hiatus — was, as WWD puts it, "urban and futuristic." Very dark, very heavy-looking clothes with a pseudo-military vibe were on both the men and the women, and some ensembles…

Kenneth Cole deleted his infamous Egypt joke from Twitter and released a second apology, but the world hasn't finished berating him. The Tweet has been emblazoned on a San Francisco store window — protest as street art (or vice-versa?).

After this provoked outrage, he added, "we weren't intending to make light of a serious situation. We understand the sensitivity of this historic moment." Don't worry KC! We totally got that from your jokey reference to people dying in Cairo.

• Meet Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom's 12-day-old son, Flynn! He weighed 9lbs 12oz at birth, and Kerr says passing that giant was "a long, arduous and difficult labour." She nonetheless said no thanks to pain meds. [Kerr's Blog]

• Lady Gaga will serve as the "Music Director" for her pal and stylist Nicola Formichetti's first show helming the recently revived label Thierry Mugler. Rumor has it that Gaga will be unveiling songs from her forthcoming album. [WWD]

The amFAR New York Inspiration Gala at The New York Public Library brought out many of the world's most inspirational: Cyndi Lauper, Kylie Minogue and Ricky Martin, to name a few. So, yes, the clothes were absurd:

• Sarah Burton, who has worked for Alexander McQueen since 1996, was named its new creative director. Cathy Horyn came out in support of Burton as a potential McQueen successor in March. Burton was previously head of women's wear. [WWD, Telegraph]

• The Met Ball may be more fun than we ever imagined — most parties are after everyone is wasties! Here's Anna Wintour, almost smiling. And dancing with P. Diddy. Wait, is Katy Perry crowd-surfing or just on a table? [VillageVoice]

• "She's not involved in this collection," said Ungaro owner Asim Abdullah just before his show commenced this afternoon, Paris time. He was referring, of course, to "artistic adviser" Lindsay Lohan, whose future at Ungaro had long been in doubt. [WWD]

• Apparently Naomi Campbell — who just weeks ago was boasting of having mastered her volatile temper — assaulted her chauffeur because he is also chauffeurs her boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin, and he refused to tell her if Doronin was cheating. [NYPost]
