And what happened then? Well, in Langley they say that Chaney's small heart grew three sizes that day. It crumbled to dust in the wind, then it flew, an aerosolized poison killing ten thousand plus two.
Megan, was he a crazy "rapist" or "racist" or both? Cause I didn't find the rapist part on the link or anywhere else.
The sex on the brain could come from the numerous Dick Cheyney reference. Sad as I am to know it, he is hung like a horse. Which will come in handy if we ever get to string him up by a body part and torture him.
Norm Coleman has spent a lot of money masturbating to his electoral fantasies in Minnesota courts.
Yes he has. I am out of amusing anger and am now to the weeping into the blanket phase of the election. Next is the drinking moonshine from a bottle and screaming at the moon from my porch.
FYI I was going to make a joke about Coleman coming on the faces of Minnesotans with his epic asshattery, but didn't have the heart. Feel free to do what I could not.
I was listening to Atlanta's NPR yesterday because they had an interview with Senator Chambliss regarding Sotomayor. He called her "THAT LADY"! Not Miss Sotomayor, not Judge Sotomayor, "THAT LADY". My blood is still boiling. I will post a link to the audio as soon as it is posted on www.wabe.org. I really wish I could be in the room when they (Chambliss and Sotomayor) are talking.
I feel bad for poor Tim Geithner. I don't know if what he's doing is right for the economy, and I have reservations in endorsing the Obama administration's fiscal policy, but I can't criticize it yet. It takes awhile before the full effect of economic policy is felt by the economy at large. That's why we're just now realizing how shitty Reaganomics was in the long term. And how repealing Glass-Steagall in 1999 was like doing economic crystal meth.
@bluebears: Clinton era policies boded well for the short term, but I can't believe how much we've been charging the present to the future, and for how long we've been doing it.
It might be time to send some Jezzies to the houses of the asshats and sit them down to discuss what really constitutes racism, because clearly none of these guys are getting it.
Beyond the ridiculousness of calling Sotomayor a racist, when she clearly isn't, is the assumption that never in the history of the Supreme Court has a decision been made based on a justice or several justices' own background. Do the conservatives honestly want us to believe that Alito or Scalia have never made a decision that was influenced by their being white and male? Total, fucking bullshit. And you know who called bullshit on that? My white, male, privileged father.
@Devonna: Kim Jong Un is so young, too. If all goes to plan, he will be in power for a very, very long time. While I hope that he is not as crazy and incompetent as his father, I see very little reason to be optimistic.
@Sputnik_Sweetheart: Kim Jung Il has always been one nutty cookie, but there's been a lot of speculation that his recent antics have been partly because of health issues, possibly including a brain tumor. So, looking on the bright side, maybe the son will only have the genetic-based craziness and not the tumor-based craziness.
Is anybody else getting really freaked out over North Korea? If you need me, I'll be in my basement preparing for the End of Days. But bring your bible and Jesus-shaped snacks.
It lets you choose various atomic bombs and where to detonate them and you can see how large the blast zone is as well as the radiation fall out. So you can see how screwed you are. :D
How Bush was able to keep a muzzle on Cheney for those eight years is a mystery. I picture him covering his mouth with duct tape in the middle of the night and running away.
@CurtCole: Yeah, its amusing that DIck Cheney is all loud and talking and really, I haven't heard from Bush since he left.
I almost feel BAD for the man. It's seeming more and more like he was just a puppet that they used and abused and wow... never thought I'd be feeling bad for GWB
CNN was actually taking the stance last night (on Anderson Cooper 360) that because of this, Dick Cheney was more progressive on gay marriage than Obama. It was a bit of a stretch, (especially considering that he only used the term "union" and never "marriage") but it was still a bit upsetting that there is a more than a hint of truth there.
Oh Obama. I still believe in you, but please, get yourself together. Change we can believe in, right?
@spiraloflife: My parents and I were talking about this over the weekend - and one of the things we were musing over is that as much as it sucks (and it does!), Obama may be playing his cards right to get more of the policy changes he promised. If he holds off on DOMA/DADT, then he avoids alienating members of Congress he really needs on board for health care reform. If he can get some of the big programmatic changes made (health care, energy policy), then he can tackle civil rights for gays more easily. If he does it in reverse, both risk defeat. Believe me, I know how shitty it sounds to say "wait a little longer" - no one should have to wait for equal rights - but it MAY be the most politically astute/necessary course of action.
@spiraloflife: actually Anderson asked Andrew Sullivan that explicitly and he said "he wouldn't go that far" but then detailed how Obama has been a HUGE letdown to the gay community so far.
So they weren't quite saying Cheney is mroe progressive than O on gay issues, but they were explaining that Obama has failed to do anything his campaign promised so far.
Building a basement bomb shelter seems overwrought right up until a 20-something dude with testosterone pulsing wildly through his veins is in charge of nuclear weapons.
