I saw Easy A this weekend, and loved it. What I didn't love? Facing the reality that when it comes to girls and sex, we haven't come that far since the 17th century Puritanical days of Hester Prynne.
We're kinda psyched for Easy A, the story of a high school girl who decides to own her slut-shamed image with a Prynne-esque scarlet A, so you'll be glad to know the premiere, at L.A.'s Chinese Theater, was pretty swell.
This month, two movies about teen virginity will hit the theaters. One follows someone who wants to lose it, another follows someone ridiculed for losing it. Guess which one is about a girl?
About a month ago, I posted a teaser trailer for the upcoming Emma Stone film, Easy A, and wondered if perhaps the film was the next Mean Girls. The full trailer is here, and the film still looks very promising.
Easy A, a modern take on The Scarlet Letter starring Emma Stone, is set to hit theaters in September. This teaser for the film, featuring Stone dancing around to a musical birthday card, is goofy but promising.
