Blake Lively, subject of the brilliant 2015 documentary The Age of Adaline, has finally shot back at critics of the controversial Instagram post from last month in which she described herself as having an “L.A. face with an Oakland booty.” Her caption, taken from Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back,” immediately irked many who found it to be insensitive coming from a rich white woman.
While promoting her upcoming shark movie The Shallows (which I’m not technically allowed to discuss until tomorrow because of a review embargo, if that tells you anything) in an interview with Sway on his radio show, Lively said she “never meant to offend anyone,” adding:
“I was celebrating my body … It’s nice to have a nice curve and not look like you’re starving to death.”
Her comments mirror Mix-A-Lot’s own, who said this about the controversy back in May:
“She’s saying she’s proud of her butt. I’m glad she embraced the look, because that’s what I wanted [with the song].”
I don’t have much to say about this beyond the fact that Blake Lively simultaneously bores, annoys, and fascinates me.

Speaking of boring, annoying, and fascinating me—but minus the fascination and boredom—let’s talk about
Demi Lovato. Remember yesterday’s
morning Dirt Bag and how she said she would be quitting Twitter/Instagram and focusing her Internet energy exclusively on Snapchat?
The final tweet of that goodbye rant was sent at 6:43 Eastern time on June 20th:
24 hours later—to the minute—she returned.
This reeks of, “Demi you can’t quit Twitter we have contractual obligations with the record label and several of your brand partnerships that guarantee a certain number of social posts.” But maybe I’m wrong! Maybe she just loves her Lovatics too much.

Oh, in case you care about
Iggy Azalea,
Sheis the one moving.
Heis staying.
“Iam the one moving” breaks my heart. Truly.

- For those of you who have seen the movie Heart and Souls, do you remember the end when Kyra Sedgwick (a soul) is like, “I wish I could give you a big hug,” to Robert Downey Jr. and then the bus driver looks up at God and is all, “Hey come on throw her a bone,” and then she can FINALLY HUG ROBERT DOWNEY JR. and we all cry? Unfortunately that scene is not on YouTube (the music is though!) but it’s how I imagine Jennifer Garner hugs Michael Vartan. [Celebitchy]
