Your Evening Cry: Ellen Gives Good Samaritan $10,000 To Feed Needy

Ellen is the queen of surprising nice people with money and recently she rewarded Derrick Walton with a way to continue feeding those in need.

Originally from Detroit, Walton made poor choices that he says led him to become homeless. Now, as he shared with Ellen, he’s back on his feet and living in Des Moines where he owns a restaurant called Chef D’s Rock Power Pizza. Once a week, he closes up shop to give food to those who need help. Ellen discovered Walton’s story, invited him to her show and gave him an check for $10,000 to fund his good works. It’s really lovely. And now … I think I have something in my eye.
