The '40 Days of Dating' Movie Is Really Happening

Latest

Warner Brothers won a reportedly “wild auction” to acquire the screen rights to “40 Days of Dating,” everyone’s favorite story about two obnoxious graphic designer friends who documented their dating experiment with many feelings and fonts. My alternate headline, “40 Days of Dating is Becoming a Movie and There’s Nothing You Can Do to Stop It,” did not fit within Kinja guidelines.

From Deadline:

The Vow and Grey Gardens helmer Michael Sucsy is attached to direct, and Lorene Scafaria will write the script. Her credits include Nick And Nora’s Infinite Playlist and she most recently wrote and directed Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World. The life rights of Walsh and Goodman are also part of the package. Michael Sugar, Joy Gorman and Bard Dorros are producing for Anonymous Content. Ashley Zalta is co-producer.

Readers may have an idea of how I feel about this project, based on previous posts entitled “40 Days of Dating and One Big Asshole” and “40 Days of Dating Update: Couple Still Very Annoying.” I do not like them. And yet! I read the whole god-dammed thing. So I will probably see the movie, also. Fuck.
