In the second high-profile example of “Twitter is not a safe space” of the week, Abigail Anderson, childhood best friend of Taylor Swift, deleted a series of capital-D Dramatic tweets in which she condemned Kanye West for calling Swift a bitch in his song, “Famous.”
In them, Anderson told West she would be praying for his daughter, North:
“Lord, hear my prayers. … I pray God helps your daughter understand, that despite how many times she’ll hear daddy reference all women as ‘bitches,’ she isn’t one. I pray she understands her father actually IS faithful to her mother, despite all the adulterous comments she will hear her father making. … I pray that she will understand ‘adultery and bitches’ are just daddy’s form of art and not to worry because not every man thinks like him. … Lastly, I pray for forgiveness. May God forgive you & your wife for doing to others the very things you pray are NEVER done to your daughter.”
Whatever side you take on this story (or even if you’re joining the growing chorus of people choosing to take no side at all), it’s not hard to feel a little outrage on behalf of Anderson for being subjected to violent threats all because she...tweeted.
Meanwhile, Taylor’s former guitarist Grant Mickelson had no problem sharing his mind on twitter.com last night:
(Shoutout to ONTD for calling this “Swiftmas in July” btw.)
Kacey Musgraves needs to stay away from the 20-year-old con artist from Hollywood Medium with two first names. No one should humor this scary, scary man.
