It's been some time since the Smoking Baby went viral, and ABC's 20/20 thought it time to check up on him. Last we heard, he was down to a mere pack or two of cigarettes per day, which seemed like enough of an improvement — until ABC discovered that there's not just one Smoking Baby in that neck of the woods.
Aldi Suganda, the chain-smoking Indonesian 2-year-old, has given up his two-to-four packs a day habit after receiving medical treatment. Doctors say smoking hasn't affected his health yet, but the left wall of his heart is thickening due to obesity.
A CBS news crew went to Indonesia to do a follow-up on two-year-old Aldi Suganda, whose insouciant smoke ring-blowing shocked the world. They found him "just before midnight...lit cigarette in-hand" and filmed it:
