    I was in NYC over Easter weekend and flipped when I saw advertisements going up for this all over Times Square...don't know when I'll be in new york again but this is definitely a must-see when I am!! Fond memories of watching the film with my gramma =)

    I saw this last week. Now, I LOVE the movie and I LOVE Dolly and I LOVE Allison Janney... but I just didn't like the show very much... I feel bad for saying it, but it just didn't have the energy and cohesiveness I look for in a Broadway show. Maybe it was an off night? (they did have to take a 10 minute break after the opening song because of technical difficulties.)
    Have other Jezzies seen it? What did you ladies think?

    @Gabberdoo: I saw it a couple of weeks ago, and really enjoyed it. I think some of the "it's the 1970s, haha" jokes are a bit distracting (the clothes and sets are really enough, and work really well). I also think the love story is an unnecessary add-on. But I think the energy level of the cast is insane, and that the four leads are incredible. Marc Kudisch was AMAZING. A-mazing.


    And Allison Janney's number in the second act was fantastic.

    @queenieinmanhattan: I must have just been there on a bad night. Maybe Janney had a cold because I couldn't really understand what she was singing.
    Another thing I forgot to mention is that the 'Fonda' role was subbed out for an understudy after intermission... it was VERY distracting.

    I want to see this so badly. Dolly Parton and Allison Janney are two of my favorite people. I'm visiting a friend in NY this summer, so maybe I can get lucky and score some tickets.

    @Janet.Jopler.is.on.my.mind.grapes: It's really, really fun. I saw it during the first week of previews, and the excitement and energy of the cast was incredibly palpable. SO MUCH FUN!
