Here's a librarian's take on this: So, the book was $30, but you read it overnight. Hardback books are usually a dollar per ten pages, so this thing was atleast 300 pages. So ... what'dshe do, write it in lipstick? Fill it up with pictures? Big margins, 14 point font, lots of white space, start every chapter on a blank page half the page down with a bumper page before and after? Just saying, this isn't a book, it's a marketing device. #goingroguereview
Yeah, because playing make believe characters who shoot other make believe characters is TOTALLY the same as shooting real live animals. Reality and movies obviously have exactly the same relevance.
I think you missed what the word irony actually means.
Also, that Kerry quote (as other have pointed out) is out of context and is not a jab at the troops. Reading comprehension fail.
I thought there was going to be no mention of Levi in the book? This kinda makes me think all those leaks and original speculation were unfair to her (i mean not really, i hate her) because she is right when she said that the AP got stuff wrong. #goingroguereview
Katie Couric, a woman who is a loser and everyone hates, asked me stupid questions over and over again. Whether I gave actual answers, or just spoke in circles is irrelevant. That moron, who is the worst anchor on TV (but still, woman-power!), had it out for me as she is secretly a Muslim who is having an affair with Barack Obama...(Ed: Sarah, we have to take this out). #goingroguereview
The quote from John Kerry she has so nicely taken out of context was actually a burn on George W. Bush, saying when you don't actually participate in school and know what you are doing you end up in Iraq, i.e. a dragged out war. It was not a condemnation of any our troops, especially since Kerry did multiple tours in Vietnam, unlike most Republicans yammering about the war, and then came back to fight for troops and veterans rights. These people make me sick. #goingroguereview
I think for my mental health I will just have to avoid anything that mentions Sarah Palin and think about Idris Elba instead.
I have a great dislike for this woman.
I worked on Ann Richards's reelection campaign (we lost). While Gov. Richards was more conservative than the people I usually support, I respected her. She was smart, tough, funny and worked her ass off. I would be wiped out at the end of the day and this woman who was more than twice my age would keep going.
It ticks me off when Palin goes on and on about how she's a victim of sexism, the media, Katie Couric, McCain staffers, etc.
She is not. We are the victims of her small-mindedness, incompetence, and sheer stupidity.
She acts as if America is one big high school and she can "charm" her way to class president.
I will never forgive McCain for putting her on the ticket. That action showed nothing but contempt for the American voter. I get he was losing but come on! There were other "hail mary" moves he could have made.
Also I read VOGUE and The Economist so not sure what that dig was about. #goingroguereview
"Generally speaking, after decades of failed social policies and weak national security positions, the party doesn't have a strong base of success from which to win political arguments. So it targets people instead of ideas."
Erm, pot? The kettle is a-calling you home.
Also, if your policies are "pro-woman," I'll eat my hat. #goingroguereview
"It was ironic that she opposed using guns to kill predators that would cause Native people to starve" Yes, clearly native people will starve if they don't shoot wolves from helicopters. Ashley Judd is so heartless.
I need to know what she thinks the word "loon" means. Is she using it to mean someone who exhibits odd behaviors based on the movements of the moon, the word that shares the same base as "lunatic"? Or does she mean the majestic aquatic bird pictured above? #goingroguereview
@emilymariewellman: It sounds a little bit like she's always narrating her own autobiography. The way Doctor Doom used to have a tape recorder in his doom armor so that his doom thoughts would always be recorded for posterity. #goingroguereview
Funny thing about that last passage about the media. If you switch "liberal" with "conservative", then you'd have my exact opinion on the current state of the media. #goingroguereview
@Ulookinatmyjunk, JOC: That was my thought! The mainstream media is total bullshit and fairly useless, but that's because it pays too much attention to celebrities and reality show train-wrecks .... and to Sarah Palin. People that don't matter. #goingroguereview
Her whining about the Vogue interview is hilarious. When she was nominated, that Vogue puff piece was all I knew about her, and it made me inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt. She came off as smart and responsible and independant and interesting. I thought, "Hmmm, I still won't vote for McCain, but it's great to have a woman and a Westerner on the national stage."
But apparently that was just a character created by Vogue despite Palin's extensive efforts to reveal herself for what she is: a pompous, over-confident, under-informed, shallow, egotistical loon. Damn those Vogue journalists and their desire to portray everyone in a positive, fashion-y, Annie Lievowitzified light. #goingroguereview
I hope she is on the Republican ticket in 2012. Her incompetence was already enough of a problem. Now we can add “evil mother-in-law” to the mix. Trying to keep a father from seeing his child is beyond offensive. At this point, I doubt many men would support a ticket with her on it. #goingroguereview
@Bunsy: Yes! But I didn’t want to speak for women.
Also—and I can’t back this up with facts and figures—it seems male voters are less concerned when male politicians mistreat their spouses and families (adultery, etc.). Double standard? #goingroguereview
