Maybe this was obvious to everyone else who watches Glee but I had an, "aha" moment the other night when I realized the story of Rachel and Finn is the exact same story as Elpheba in Wicked...minus the green face paint. Witch is fitting, no? #rihannaglamourmagazine
How does Michael Lohan know what prescription meds his daughter is taking since he's been famously ESTRANGED from her for years? What a famewhoreing prick. #rihannaglamourmagazine
Ah, Rihanna. I've been waiting for you to say that.
I kind of like that she hasn't decided to take the super-strong-woman advocate role in all of this. At least not yet.
She's been very honest about the complexities of these situations and the way you really feel while inside them... most women are not going to be able to immediately disown someone they loved. They're not going to be able to get their thoughts straight about the situation, or just know their strength and claim their worth right away. It's all very gray, and when it finally comes to the point where it has to stop, it's probably been going on so long that you've started to believe what your abuser has told you - that it's at least party your fault, that you need him, that it's really not that bad, that you're weak, that you're making a fuss over nothing. Having to step forward and end it is embarassing, almost like being offended at a joke that everyone else in the room thought was funny, and you just must not get it. It takes a while before you're ready to say, "No, I know that I'm right. This is not ok, and nothing you say will make it ok."
I didn't like her new single, Russian Roulette, at first. But then I realized that it didn't excuse anyone, it just communicated how it really feels in that moment without any of the romanticism and simplicity that hindsight brings. It's a painfully honest description of what it's actually like, before the triumphant recovery and the empowerment anthem. It's disturbing and upsetting, but that's what domestic violence is, and we shouldn't skip over that.
I wish that her photo hadn't been leaked. It was an invasion of her rights. But would as many people have been as outraged as they were if we hadn't seen it? I really don't know, but my guess is no. We don't want to see how deeply ugly it is, but because we never do, we don't ever take it seriously... we continue to have unrealistically high expectations of women, thinking they should be able to just deal with it, when we don't even know what it is unless we've been through it ourselves.
But unless we know what it is, more and more of us will inevitably have to go through it ourselves. Denial feeds this problem more than anything else. #rihannaglamourmagazine
OK, I never really liked Joss Stone (for no good reason, I promise!) but her quote is winning me over. Seriously, who says well-known musicians should make all that bank? #rihannaglamourmagazine
I don't mind Angelina spending $500 at Kids Gap -- she has six kids! I appreciate that she shops at a "normal" store, instead of Ma Petite Bebe Chouxfleur or whoever the hell sells those $500 onesies in In Touch. #rihannaglamourmagazine
Um, if soymilk had enough estrogen to give a man breasts, I'd be like a ZZZ cup. I *wish* making my boobs grow was that easy. Sheesh. #rihannaglamourmagazine
@onestrawplz: my husband felt that soy milk made him weepy, he said that it was so wierd but just felt off for a while; he switched to rice milk. #rihannaglamourmagazine
@Sodypop: I switched to rice milk b/c I was worried about the cancer implications w/ soy milk. My mom's a breast cancer survivor; there's no reason to chance it! #rihannaglamourmagazine
I had a friend in college who ate fast food chicken sandwiches every day for months and he literally grew a breast, only one, because of all the hormones that had been injected into the chicken. He was also majorly tall and skinny, so it was very obvious. He told everyone to stay away from the place, and became a bit of an urban legend around our school. #rihannaglamourmagazine
@cuteasabutton: It's okay to laugh - it was hysterical. Also, he's kind of a cartoon of a guy already, so it was perfect.
I believe he went into the doctor and got reverse hormones so it went away, but I prefer to imagine him going in and being met with a giant syringe. #rihannaglamourmagazine
@Sassy Pants: wow - that is so incredibly horrifying and bizarre! no wonder the age of puberty keeps dropping in women, if there are enough injected hormones in our food supply to cause grown MEN to grow breasts! #rihannaglamourmagazine
@tudobem: Hahahaha thank you! My boss is 32 and refers to herself as a "tummy thinker." I want to throw up in my mouth a little. #rihannaglamourmagazine
I like to think that the divorce between Stephanie Seymour and her husband will resemble the last half of the November Rain video. Except, you know, without the death and such. Mostly, I just want to see someone dive into a huge cake for no reason.

You know, heidi, that is precisely the reason why I feel like I can never cry in front of people; because people like you use tears to manipulate situations.
And it's definitely not confined to girls. I had an ex-boyfriend who'd turn on the waterworks anytime we got in a fight, and then OF COURSE I'd start apologizing, cause I don't deal well with tears, and then before I knew it, I was kowtowing to his stupid-ass emotionally abusive demands. So, shut it, Heidi. #rihannaglamourmagazine
@likepenguins: BFs who cry at the drop of a hat are the WORST. Especially the manipulative ones. They're carrying on like a howler monkey and you're trying desperately to think of anything that will make. it. stop! Not fair, not right. Heidi needs to STFU with that 50s nonsense. #rihannaglamourmagazine
@Hooplehead: Exactly. Frankly, I don't think it's right to throw out the tears during any argument. I realize sometimes you can't help it - emotions get the better of you - but it is very manipulative and is a hallmark of the emotionally abusive. "Well, if you weren't such a horrible bf/gf/spouse, I wouldn't be reacting this way!" #rihannaglamourmagazine
Wasn't Kiefer Sutherland in jail for a DUI not so long ago? One would think he'd want to steer clear of the morning boozin'. Also, I've heard Gentleman Broncos is terrible except for the lovely Mr. Clement. #rihannaglamourmagazine
@Penny: i think shes being kind of an asshole. saying 'no offense' doesnt make what youre saying unoffensive, Joss! I also kind of think shes being patronizing and clearly thinks of herself as being better than lily etc, altough cant say i dont agree with her. #rihannaglamourmagazine
@Penny: Joss Stone may have a pretty voice, but she is B-O-R-I-N-G. And it's funny that Stone feels like she is in the position to snark because it's not like she's creating great art or anything either-she sings staid, predictable adult contemporary music. "Singer" or no, I would take Lily Allen over her any day of the week.
@Hooplehead: I would too, actually. And I always claimed to dislike Allen. Just goes to show how good "pop" can change your mind! #rihannaglamourmagazine
@Penny: But her point is valid. Britney Spears makes millions of dollars on tour lip-synching music she didn't write. That's a performance. When you see a singer/song writer in concert making their own music, that's art, and in my opinion, is worthy of more respect. #rihannaglamourmagazine
@Hooplehead: @Penny:
I saw Lily Allen perform in a really small SF club about 3 years - she wasn't even the headliner, Shiny Toy Guns was - and she is actually an amazing live performer. Great singer, played her own instruments for several songs, and had a great stage presence. even my boyfriend who hated her album at the time had to admit she was a blast live. #rihannaglamourmagazine
@OldEnough2BYourMama: Stone's point would be valid if she were talking about Britney. She was talking about Lily, whose music is funnier, more creative and more interesting than Stone's will ever be. And, IIRC, Allen writes her own stuff. #rihannaglamourmagazine
