    However! I have stood next to James McAvoy (breeeeeeathed his aaaaaaaaair), and he's not that short. I mean, it really doesn't matter to me either way, because I'd happily shag him six ways to Sunday even if he were waist-high. But he's definitely taller than I am, and I'm 5'7".

    @ASmallTurnip: Thanks! But I think the M.A.E. {Cf. Beck, Conor Oberst} is not solely a matter of feet and inches. It also has to do with a sort of fineness of scale, of frame... Excuse me, I need to go take some time to think about this in deep, penetrating detail.

    @katie.scarlett.o'hara: One of several reasons I'm hesitant to see the film. The other main one is that the book made me so sad, I don't know if I want to subject myself to a live-action version, McAvoy hotness be damned.
