    I so called it that Jon is trying to control Kate with all his grand dramatic gestures. Stealing money, closing the show down, even the interviews? It's all a way to say, you can't leave me, I'm going to bully you until you pay attention to me.

    I can't help wondering how much his religous background is playing into this attitude. I live in PA and my uncle is a preacher literally minutes from where Jon and Kate live. Some of those churches preach that the man is the head of the house and godlike ruler and the wife falls in line. It's always been covered up on the show, bt Jon and Kate are hella religious.

    You know, I used to really like Ewan McGregor, but recently I have noticed (several times) that he has done/said things that made me think he's got a huge ego, is arrogant and just kind of rude. (I think this first started when I watched those round the world and north to south motorbike trips with Charlie Boorman. I read the book too. I know a lot of people liked them but my overall feeling...hard to explain but it just left a bad taste in my mouth - something about his aloof "I'm something really special" manner. )

    This Polanski stuff is just the last straw for me. I was just kind of not bothered about him either way before, but now I count myself as a non-fan. #lindsaylohan

    @applejuice: Yeah, me too. So sad, I used to really like him. It seems many people still need to understand that what he did is inexcusable, and if they have a personal relationship with the guy and don't want to talk shit about him, that's fine, don't say anything and be done with it. Being an overall nice guy is not a defense for rape. #lindsaylohan

    I was pretty upset. I don't like to think of him sitting in a prison cell. = I don't think he should go to jail. What is happening is wrong.

    But I wouldn't comment upon it because it's a very complicated issue, you know? = I know if I speak out on his behalf, my career will be irreparably damaged, so I will couch my unpopular opinion in third-person, indirect comments while announcing that I decline to comment.

    It seems odd. He's been living in Switzerland for years and I've visited him there, so this is all very strange. = But I still think his arrest is wrong and I want you to know that without getting me in trouble.

    @Island of Misfit Toys: If you read the linked LAT Q&A in its entirety, you'll find that McEwan is in no way shirking from stating his unmitigated support and admiration for Polanski-the-director. In that light, I suppose I read his above-quoted comment as "This whole business of what Polanski-the-person did is giving me the creeps, and also saddening me because I admire him on a professional level and he welcomed me into his home. I have contradictory and confusing feelings about it all." And yes, THIS is prolly projecting in the opposite direction, I guess.. #lindsaylohan

    @erinna: I confess that I can't go many places without touching things. I have been known to pet walls to find out what the texture is like and closely examine flooring materials to see what they are made of. It's rarely enough to just look at something. I have to restrain myself. #lindsaylohan

    @erinna: one of the best things I've seen was years ago, at a launch party for the Sidekick 3 in LA (which Lindsay also attended). There was a huge ice sculpture in the shape of the stupid sidekick phone, and I saw a girl walk over to it, poke it a little with her finger and watch horrified as the whole thing fell to the floor and shattered. The weirdest part was that besides me, NO ONE ELSE NOTICED. It was like a truly bizarre example of how LA people are so into themselves they don't even turn around when a four foot long ice sculpture smashes into the ground. #lindsaylohan

    @ritualtheory: Casting Michelle Williams as Dusty would be a huge leap of faith, as she's never proven herself as an effective lead in any studio film. She was touching in that krazy-dog-lady "Wendy & Lucy" micro-indie last year, but I might be one of only 5 people who saw it.

    @femme-bot: My neighbor sings opera all day, which was endearing at first and now is super annoying. The walls don't shake or anything like that, but having endless noise pouring into your apartment is frustrating. I'm guessing Madonna's neighbors pay a LOT more money than I do to live somewhere peaceful and quiet. #lindsaylohan
