Memo To Allure: Rachel Zoe Is Not Alluring
Allure magazine is the most confusing of all the American ladymags. Is it a beauty magazine? A fashion magazine? Both? Do people really still buy it? But what's even more confusing was the guest list for last night's NYC event celebrating the "Most Alluring Bodies": those of Hilary Duff, Katherine McPhee, Paula Patton, Carey Lowell, Olivia Palmero and Rachel Zoe. All these ladies and a few more (like Simon Doonan and Jonathan Adler!) in the Good, the Bad, & the Ugly, after the jump. More »Stella McCartney & Friends Dress For The Party
How quickly Stella McCartney moves! Just here in New York for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala on Monday evening, last night Stella made her way to the left coast, where she hosted a screening of the classic Peter Sellers comedy The Party at her Los Angeles boutique. And yes, rest assured, famous friends followed: Charlize Theron, Emmanuelle Chirqui, Mika, Rashida Jones, Rosanna Arquette, Amber Valletta, Angie Harmon, China Chow and others. The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly, as always, is right after the jump. More »Anna Wintour: Empress Of The Ugly At Costume Institute Gala
One more time! (Promise.) Met. Costume. Institute. Gala. Superheroes. Sponsored by Vogue and Armani. Hosted by Julia Roberts and George Clooney. You've seen the Good. You've seen the Bad. [This is reminding me of a certain early '80s sitcom theme song. -Ed.] Now we've got the Ugly, namely, a god-awful Anna Wintour, Melania Trump, Mary-Kate Olsen, Kimora Lee Simmons, and (sob) Dita von Teese. All of them, and others, after the jump. More »At Costume Institute Gala, Bad Tries To Triumph Over Good; Fails
In case you need a refresher: Last night. Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute. Superhero theme. Every celebrity and fashion designer in the world. Some people looked Good, some people looked Ugly. But in between there were the Bad, which included Sarah Silverman, left, Beyonce, Blake Lively, Eva Amurri, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Connolly, Kristin Davis, Jennifer Lopez, Tamara Mellon, Mary J. Blige, and Kate Bosworth. All those and others, after the jump. More »At Costume Institute Gala, The Good Superheroes Took A Fashion Flight Of Fancy
Okay let's cut to the chase: Last night. Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala. Theme was "Superheroes." Everyone and their brother was there. I've broken the photos down into Good, Bad, and Ugly for your viewing pleasure. The Good — including Victoria Beckham, Christina Ricci, Diane Kruger, Iman, Mischa Barton, Amanda Peet, Scarlett Johansson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Tilda Swinton and Claire Danes — begins after the jump; the Bad and Ugly to come later. - Nelson Mandela personally called Amy Winehouse and asked her to sing at his birthday party on June 27! The former president of South Africa phoned her! Bono, Elton John and Annie Lennox are expected to perform as well. This UK paper says,"Let's hope [Amy] bee-hives herself!" Yuk, yuk. [Mirror]
- Meanwhile: Does Blake Incarcerated have a secret mistress? Is he plotting with the "mystery blonde" to run away with her — and a chunk of Amy's £10 million fortune? [The Sun]
- Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are due in court today for a progress review. A completely uninformed opinion? She's doing better. [People]
- Owen Wilson allegedly picked up some chick (not Kate Hudson) and invited her back to is boat and propositioned her to join him in a threesome with Vince Vaughn. There was a time that a Butterscotch Stallion/Money Baby sandwich would have been soooo hot, and that time was 2001. [Perez Hilton]
- Britney's back at work on How I Met Your Mother. She looks cute dressed to match Neil Patrick Harris! [TMZ]
Speed Racer: Another Premiere, Another Hot Shot Of Eva Amurri
For the love of God: How many Speed Racer premieres is Warner Bros. scheduling?! The latest took place on Friday night as part of the Tribeca Film Festival. By now you know the routine: Christina Ricci, Emile Hirsch, Susan Sarandon, Miles Robbins, Eva Amurri, and that cute little kid who is also in the movie. But since this was the Tribeca Film Festival, there were also some kick-ass randoms present: Robert DeNiro and his wife Grace Hightower, Law & Order: Criminal Intent's Vincent D'Onofrio and his wife and son; Fred Durst (again!) and his girlfriend and, best of all, Stephen Colbert and his entire family. All of them, plus the Good, Bad and Ugly of what they wore, after the jump. More »What Happens In Vegas Is A Whole Lotta Bad Fashion
The ads for the Ashton Kusher-Cameron Diaz comedy What Happens in Vegas boast that the film is "the first big comedy of the summer." Based on these same ads, however, I'm pretty sure that it's the first big-budget sucky movie of the summer. Confirming my theory are the sartorial choices made by those in attendance at the movie's premiere in Los Angeles last night. Brooke Burns, Diablo Cody, Eva Longoria, Michelle Krusiec, Tamara Mowry, and Soleil Moon Frye (!) were all there. And looking bad. (Sorry Diablo.) And as a little gift for you for Friday: Bai Ling was there too. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, all after the jump. More »Iron Man Premiere: The Bold, The Beautiful, The Jumpsuit On Gwyneth
After a gajillion and a half screenings and press junkets, the Iron Man movie finally had its official premiere last night in Los Angeles. And. Um. How best to phrase this? Well: Gwyneth Paltrow wore a jumpsuit. Yes, a jumpsuit. (See left; larger image after the jump.) Fortunately, the movie's lead, Robert Downey, Jr., stepped it up: He and wife Susan both embodied old-school Hollywood style. Who else was there? Funny you should ask: Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor, Billy Corgan (!), Emmanuelle Chirqui, Jennifer Grey (!!), Sean "Diddy" Combs, Beau Bridges, Pete Wentz, Terrence "Baby Wipes" Howard, Vince Vaughn, Jack Black, Rosanna Arquette and more. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, all after the jump. More »Mariah Gets Engaged... With Used Ring
- Mariah Carey, 38, is engaged to Wild 'N Out star Nick Cannon, 27. Yeah, weird. Did you even know they knew each other? [Access Hollywood]
- And, um, the ring Nick gave Mariah is the same one he gave his former fiancé, Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks. That is just Tackée Harry. [Perez Hilton]
- Madonna humped Justin Timberlake in during her show at New York City's Roseland. The more things change, the more they stay the same, no? [E!]
- A second nanny in the Rob Lowe case has filed a cross complaint and it says that Rob's wife Sheryl sexually harassed her by walking around naked and asking about the size of the nanny's boyfriend's penis. (Apparently the boyfriend is a 7 foot former NBA player.) But yeah, from an employer? Ew. [TMZ]
- The nanny also says the wife was "perverted, disgusting and crude." [People]
- Meanwhile, Rob Lowe's lawyer says the allegations are false, obvs. [People]
