Anyway, I'm pretty skeptical and therefore I'm on the side of the "O rly" people here. I think for me the fact that a lot of her alleged condition cannot be proven and would be totally easy to fake - and look at all of the attention she's getting for it. I get the "I want to help others" thing but I don't think going on Oprah will actually accomplish anything other than to send a bunch of her viewers running to their doctors claiming they have the same condition - the WebMD syndrome.
But whatevs. I'm not gonna hunt her down and throw a pie in her face or anything.

It's not as if she's recalling random memories of her own life, she can name what was happening in the news. The weather, even. I doubt anyone could fake that.

I had thought this would evolve into a discussion of memory, pros, cons, why we may be remembering and forgetting what we remember and forget. Sadly, that's not how the thread has gone.

While there are many things I'd love to remember (i.e. where I've left my keys, friend's birthdays, the last conversation I had with my big bro before he died) there are many things in my life that I would much rather forget.

That said, abnormalities in brain size can mean many different things and so, one cannot simply deduce that the size of one's brain is a sole determinant of memory.

It is an educated opinion from not one, but many analysts and doctors that have previously disproven others who claim to have this condition. They are actually still in the process of testing two people and one of them, they say, has the condition. You keep saying how you call bullshit, but do you really have any other reason than "you can make it up?" I mean, don't you think people might have thought of that? "Mentalists" have been doing this stuff for decades and they ALWAYS get disproven. What I'm getting at is all you have is a "I'm calling bullshit" and all she has is proof, facts and an entire medical team backing her up.

and NO! I am not going to watch the clip because I already wasted time reading about this woman on the Oprah site and it supplied me with NO scientific proof that she remembers everything with every emotion attached....ever
