Gordon Gartrelle! My brother and I still say that to each other every time we see a really hideous outfit.

One lesson learned from Family Ties: You will have at least one child who is the ideological opposite of you and he will make his point by placing gigantic Nixon and Reagan posters in your newborn's bedroom to indoctrinate the kid.

I was always mystified by how Danny Tanner's talk show gig somehow supported three children and two layabouts inside a plush, two-story house in San Francisco. Hollywood magic knows no bounds.

I am 16 and I have taken most of my life lessons from Saved by the Bell, Designing Women, Full House, and Golden Girls.

I still get the chills whenever a Julia has a speech, and though I don't believe in God I still remember Charleen explaining to her Pastor how much she wanted to be a minister and how their crazy friend had a full out Bible Quote fight with the minister and she won.

@daisy92: That was seriously one of the best TV episodes ever. I even remember the name -- "How Great Thou Art."

    From Clarissa I learned:

    1. Everyone's little brother is annoying, but you have to love them anyway.

    2. Boys make good friends.

    3. Clothes don't have to match to be awesome, and who the hell wants to dress like everyone else anyway?

One important lesson I learned was...

Whenever my life gets me so down,

I know I can go down,

To where the music and the fun never ends.

As long as that music keeps playing,

    You know what I'm saying,

I know that I can find a friend,

    Down at the Roundhouse

Oh, and Roseanne taught me that Halloween isn't just a holiday, it's an art form and a time for your creativity re: costumes, pranks, etc. to run wild. Becky, Darlene, etc. wouldn't have been caught dead dressed up like a "Sexy Nurse".

@Your Screenplay Sucks: Somehow a struggling, blue-collar family has the time and $$$ to build an elaborate haunted house, complete with a vampire head on a dinner plate.

Oh, and Park Overall's snarky nurse on Empty Nest taught me that people love a smart mouth on a Southerner. And God bless her for it.

Too bad she had to go ruin it with that Lifetime movie Fifteen and Pregnant where she was Kirsten Dunst's mom and wouldn't even let her have a baby shower because it was embarassing. Lord.

Oprah Winfrey taught me all about periods when she came to Blossom in a dream and they made that cake with a uterus made out of icing.

@bonita applebum: Small Wonder--it was a direct to syndication show in the 80s. In my city it was on right before Out of the World, where a 1/2 alien girl could stop time by bringing her fingers together in front of her face. A trick I tried many many times during tests at school.
