Now Dudes Are Putting Socks on Their Cocks for Cancer Awareness

Latest

Not to overload you with the content about the power of selfies to cure cancer, but there is apparently a trend sweeping the internet that involves nude men putting socks on their penises ala the Red Hot Chili Peppers to raise money for testicular and prostate cancers.

The Cock in a Sock campaign was started in the U.K. by a man who says his name is James Brown (pictured above) in an attempt to raise money for Cancer Research U.K. and to increase awareness about cancer involving male genitalia. (A post on the group’s Instagram account is signed “dan admin.”) He’s hoping to get at least £5000 in order to become a registered charity. Interested parties are encouraged to take a nude selfie with a sock covering their penis and donate money by texting SOCK70 to the number 70070, the way you’d donate money to the Red Cross. So far, Brown has raised roughly £2000 from over 400 people, though it seems unlikely he’ll stop at £5000.

The campaign does not seem to have been completely hindered by the Terms of Service for the social platforms it operates on. According to Queerty, “there are tons of guys being reported for ‘violating community standards'” on Facebook. (For those whose images have been removed, they’re encouraged to share the photo at left.) The Cock in a sock Facebook page has not been shut down however; neither has their Twitter account or their Instagram account, though a celebratory Instagram account that gathered the best photos from around the web is no longer up. With Twitter that makes sense; Twitter has no rules prohibiting nudity on their platform. Instagram’s Terms of Service, however, state that “Accounts found sharing nudity or mature content will be disabled and your access to Instagram may be discontinue,” which has happened many times before.

The photos being shared so far seem to be predominantly fromhotties” which is making everyone who is into photos of almost-naked dudes very happy.
