New Peek at Pixar's Inside Out Captures the Tween Hell That Is Dinner

Latest

Get excited: Here’s a brand new trailer for Inside Out, the Pixar movie coming in June. Featuring Amy Poehler, Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling, it’s set inside the mind of an 11-year-old girl as she makes the rocky transition to tweenhood. Can’t bawl my eyes out in the middle of a movie theater full of children, just like Up!

It’s a little nervous-making to see such a stereotypical primary-caregiver Mom and clueless sometimes-authoritarian Dad, but the trailer’s only two minutes long—let’s hope that’s marketing-department cherry-picking. The prospect of a movie that really nails what it’s like being an adolescent girl, yanked thither and yon by fear, anger, disgust, sadness and joy, is exciting enough I’m inclined to overlook. Also, we gotta give these little girls something to watch besides Frozen.
