Monday Night Social: The Night Belongs to Jamaica Kincaid

Another exciting long weekend draws to a close, and as you prepare yourself for work tomorrow by taking an Ambien and then hallucinating that you can watch your computer in 3d (so fun!), take a moment to stop and wish a happy birthday to Jamaica Kincaid.

The author and “gardening writer”—as her Wikipedia page refers to her as—is probably best known for the short story Girl, which many of us fell in love with (and discussed at length) in our tenth grade lit classes.
