On Thursday, the internet was abuzz with news that Miley Cyrus might have done her least likable thing yet by saying some very not nice things about Beyoncé in an interview with LOVE magazine out soon. But Miley’s claiming she would never do anything so dumb and it looks like she’s not lying.
Early Thursday morning, Emily Longeretta of Bonnie Fuller‘s Hollywood Life posted quotes allegedly taken from the forthcoming interview with Cyrus. In these quotes, Cyrus apparently calls herself “the best” and a “total package,” comparing herself to an old and tired Bey:
“Beyonce has been a big inspiration to me but she’s been out for such a long time. She’s so talented and I think she’s at the top of the game now but people are always looking for new blood and that’s what I bring to the game now, new blood. I got the total package you know, the curves, the rhythm, and the voice. I’m just the best.”
The quotes also have her arguing that Beyoncé’s decision to child rear will get in the way of her popularity and hot bod:
“As Beyoncé grows in motherhood and all the crap it does to your body, it will create a vacuum for fresh young faces to rise up and no one else can properly fill that void right now. I’m the only white female singer that could fill that slot right now and do it right, you know? I’m just the total package, you know? All things must start and end and I hope to have the same success as other icons in the game when my run is over. But for now, my run is just starting.”
Other sites soon picked up the story, but some (including the Daily Mail) deleted them after Miley sent out a series of tweets saying that she would never say such a thing:

The likely story here is that someone sent Hollywood Life a bad tip about the article, or that the site made it up entirely, though the fact that they deleted the post would suggest otherwise. While Perez Hilton has gotten a lot of heat for starting the story, a new post on PerezHilton.com centers on Miley denying the quotes and Perez has sent a few tweets defending his honor. According to Hilton, he got the tip from the Mail‘s Colette Fahy. But in a couple tweets (one of which has since been deleted that linked to the Hollywood Life article), Fahy says the story originated with Hollywood Life‘s Longeretta:
At this point, it seems unlikely that someone at LOVE majorly fucked up (Update: Especially because they’ve tweeted that they’re not responsible for these quotes)
or that Miley is the only person on earth who thinks they’re more perfect than Beyoncé.
