Men Wear Miniskirts, Protest Murder and Alleged Rape of Turkish Woman

Men in Turkey and Azerbaijan are wearing miniskirts in honor of 20-year-old Turkish psychology student Özgecan Aslan who was murdered two weeks ago after allegedly fighting off a rapist. Buzzfeed reports that the hashtag #ozgecanicinminietekgiy (“wear a miniskirt for Ozgecan”) has inspired the protest.

According to another Buzzfeed report, last Monday women posted selfies while wearing black clothes in response to a call to action on twitter: #ÖzgecanIçinSiyahGiy (“wear black for Özgecan”).
