Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig say that their inspiration for Marchesa's fall-winter 2014 line was "our Scottish woman who's a little bit more disheveled in winter, with this static hair like she's running through the fields in the Highlands." Given the pair's penchant for designing opulent, ethereal evening wear, one would be safe in assuming that Marchesa's take on "disheveled" is very different from the layman's.
And different it was: the line dripped with lace and foiling, exquisite draping and fluttering fabric. This is the evening wear of the Highlands' fairy court.
