Laura Prepon Is No More For Orange is the New Black

Laura Prepon aka Alex, Piper Chapman’s ex-girlfriend and fellow prison inmate on Netflix’s Orange is the New Black will not be a series regular in Season 2 of the show that has become beloved by lesbians and lovers of lesbians.

According to unnamed sources who spoke with BuzzFeed.

Prepon will come back for a limited number of episodes in the show’s 13-episode second season in order to resolve her story. And the door will be left often for her to return in the future. But the actress did not sign a contract tying her to the show for the upcoming season.

There’s no word on whether or not Prepon has other projects lined up, though anything she ended up doing would have to be better than Are You There, Chelsea? For those who found Prepon kind of dull and not particularly impressive on the OITNB and have felt that way watching most everything she’s ever acted in, her departure from the show isn’t heartbreaking news. For others that were seriously shipping Alex and Piper’s relationship and will always have a soft spot for Donna from That ’70s Show, this is. This is as good a time as any to begin that West Side Story brawl you have been dreaming of.
