Kanye West Forgot His Lyrics But Made It Through Kris Jenner's Birthday Party

While trying to survive Kris Jenner’s Great Gatsby themed 60th birthday party this past weekend, Kanye West reportedly forgot the lyrics to one of his songs.

According to Page Six sources, the memory lapse happened after Charlie Wilson hit the stage to sing The Gap Band’s “Outstanding,” followed by West’s lesser known single, “See Me Now.”

West, likely blinded by the sparkles, sequins and Kris Jenner yelps, allegedly froze when offered the mic:

“Kanye said, ‘I don’t remember the words!’” said a spy. “So he started singing 50 Cent’s ‘In Da Club’ instead. The whole crowd was chanting [the song’s lyrics], ‘Go Shorty! It’s your birthday!’”

Go shorty, it’s your birthday theme party based on a classic novel about the failed American dream and upper class destruction! Whoo!

West ended up initiating a round of Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday” (the only version that matters) instead and freestyling ad libs.
