Janice Dickinson Says Bill Cosby Sexually Assaulted Her

Janice Dickinson is the latest woman to accuse Bill Cosby of rape, claiming the comedian sexually assaulted her in a hotel room in 1982.

Dickinson, a model who calls herself the “world’s first supermodel,” is known for her stints on several reality shows such as The Surreal Life and America’s Next Top Model. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Dickinson said she first met Cosby when she her agent set her up on a meeting for a possible role on his show in 1982. Later, she said Cosby called her out of the blue when she was in rehab and invited her to meet with him in Tahoe to discuss her singing career, which by even Dickinson’s account was basically non-existent at the time:

Dickinson says they had dinner in Lake Tahoe, and claims that he gave her a glass of red wine and a pill, which she asked for because she was menstruating and had stomach pains. And that’s when she tells ET that things took a disturbing turn.
“The next morning I woke up, and I wasn’t wearing my pajamas, and I remember before I passed out that I had been sexually assaulted by this man,” she tells ET. “… Before I woke up in the morning, the last thing I remember was Bill Cosby in a patchwork robe, dropping his robe and getting on top of me. And I remember a lot of pain. The next morning I remember waking up with my pajamas off and there was semen in between my legs.”

Dickinson has never been shy about talking about what a creep she thinks Cosby is. In an article for Vice, former Jezebel staffer Tracie Egan Morrissey recounts the version of the Tahoe meeting that appeared in Dickinson’s 2002 autobiography, No Lifeguard on Duty: The Accidental Life of the World’s First Supermodel. In her book, Dickinson describes a rather uncomfortable meeting with Cosby in a hotel room in Tahoe, but omits any mention of a sexual assault. She told ET while she wanted to describe what happened to her, Cosby’s lawyer’s pressured her and Harper Collins to omit the incident in her book, which she eventually did.

Now, she says she’s coming forward to tell the real story.

“I’m doing this because it’s the right thing to do, and it happened to me, and this is the true story,” Dickinson told ET about coming forward now. “I believe all the other women.”

Dickinson is the 15th woman to come forward with rape allegations against the comedian. On Monday, Joan Tarshis said she was raped twice by Cosby in 1969. Last week, Barbara Bowman wrote an essay for the Washington Post alleging Cosby raped her in 1985.
