Hospitalized Joni Mitchell Is 'Awake and In Good Spirits'

On Tuesday, news broke that Joni Mitchell had been found unconscious and rushed to the hospital. Today, NPR reports that the musician is “awake and in good spirits.”

NPR got their information via Joni Mitchell’s website, which posted the following update last night at 9:57 PST:

Joni was found unconscious in her home this afternoon. She regained consciousness on the ambulance ride to an L.A. area hospital. She is currently in intensive care undergoing tests…

“April Fools,” she whispers from her hospital bed. Cruel prank, Joni, but we’re still glad you’re feeling better. Please don’t scare us like that in the future.
