For a December 8 marathon, organizers in Keelung, Taiwan hired a “ghost” to scare runners into faster race times. Hello, it me: the Taiwan Marathon Ghost. Here to scare you through your toughest of times.

The Taiwan Marathon Ghost (me) is friendly and just wants you to do your best:

“I didn’t dare frighten people by hiding in the woods,” she said. “I just waited for them to encourage them.”

The ghost waited along the halfway point of the marathon and would appear to chase runners through their mid-race slump.
