Gwen Stefani Performs New Single "Start a War"

Latest

Gwen Stefani hasn’t performed a full solo concert in nearly eight years. But last night, on the eve of the Grammys, Stefani performed a full show at the Orpheum Theater.

Rolling Stone reports that she performed tracks from earlier albums as well as four new singles including the ballad, “Start a War,” that Stefani co-wrote with Sia. The song has all of the hallmarks of a Sia ballad — those mournful, moody bridges that Sia does so well — but I dig it, and vintage-inspired feathery getup.

The full solo set seems to be a one-time deal. Rolling Stone notes that Stefani “won’t tour in support of her upcoming solo album, which features tracks co-written with Pharrell, Harris, and Charli XCX. Instead, she’ll switch her focus back to No Doubt and a follow-up to their 2013 comeback album Push and Shove.”
